　日本企業の韓国駐在員が韓国で見た伝統的な光景と若者たちが集う現代的なスポットを写真で紹介する個展「ソウルフル・ソウル」が、きょう２２日から、名古屋市昭和区八事本町の中京大学アートギャラリーＣ・スクエアで開かれる。

　個展を開くのは、日本郵船の韓国法人・ＮＹＫラインコリア（本社・ソウル）副社長、小川裕司さん（５３）。２００５年４月に韓国に赴任し、休日のたび韓国各地を旅行し、驚いたことや感動したことなどを写真に収めてきた。前任地のオーストラリアではプロカメラマンに師事したこともあり、写真の腕はプロ級だ。

　０６年４月、撮りためた写真を韓国語で“生まれて初めて”という驚きを表す「ナンセンチョウム」の題でエッセーにして出版したところ、人気を呼び、日韓両国で展覧会も開催してきた。

　今回は、李朝時代の家屋を再現した「民俗村」や王宮・景福宮など韓国の伝統が残る景色をセピア色の写真で展示。その隣には、若者が集うソウルの流行発信地・弘大地区の街並みや飲食店、大学生の姿などをブルーの写真で並べる。

個展は２９日まで。入場無料。

일본기업에서 한국에 온 주재원이 한국에서 본 전통적인 모습과 젊은이들이 모이는 현대적인 장소를 사진으로 소개합니다.  전시 제목은  'Soulful Seoul'이며, 22일부터 나고야시 쇼와쿠 야고토 혼마찌에 있는 중경대학 아트 갤러리 '씨 스퀘어'에서 열립니다.

개인전을 여는 것은 일본우선의 한국법인 'NYK Line(Korea)'(본사 서울)의 부사장인 오가와 유지(53)씨.2005년 4월 한국에 부임하여, 휴일마다 한국 각지를 여행하며 놀라거나 감동한 것 등을 카메라에 담아왔다. 전임지인 호주에서는 프로 카메라맨에게 사진을 배운 적도 있어 실력은 프로급이다.

2006년 4월에는 모아둔 사진을 '태어나서 처음으로'라는 뜻의 한국말 '난생처음'이라는 제목으로 에세이를 출판, 인기를 얻었고 한일 양국에서 전시회를 개최하기도 하였다.

오가와씨는 '고향인 나고야에서 개인전을 열게 되어 매우 기쁩니다. 한국에 남아있는 유교의 전통과, 현대적이고 다이나믹한 면을 함께 느껴보시기 바랍니다.' 라고 전했다.

Photo exhibition at Chukyo University starts from today

A Japanese expatriate living in Korea introduces traditional and cultural scenes and popular spots where young people gather through his photos in the photo exhibition “Soulful Seoul”. The exhibition starts from January 22 at the Art Galley “C. Square” of Chukyo University located at Yagoto Honmachi, Syowa-ku, Nagoya City.
This unique photographer is Mr. Yuji Ogawa (53), Vice President of NYK Line Korea (the headquarters in Seoul). He came to Korea in April of 2005, and since then, he has been traveling to local Korean towns on his days-off and holidays and taking photos of things which he was impressed and surprised at. Before coming to Korea, he was in Australia where he learned photo taking techniques from a professional photographer. Thus, his photo-taking prowess is now like a professional photographer.
As of April, 2006, he published a photo essay book “Nan Seng Cheo Um”. The title means “for the first time” in Korean. The book became very popular, and he held photo exhibitions in both Japan and Korea many times to introduce his unique photos.
This photo exhibition in Nagoya adopts a unique style. The photos of “Korean Folk Village” where traditional houses in the Lee Dynasty are reconstructed and the scenes in which Korean traditions still exists such as palaces and Gyeongbokgung are shown in sepia. On the other hand, the photos of streets, restaurants, cafes and students at one of the most popular and fashionable spots among young people “Honde Area” are shown in blue.
Mr. Ogawa said, “I am very happy to be able to hold this photo exhibition at my hometown Nagoya. I hope people coming to my exhibition could feel the traditional Confucianism and dynamics in the modern days, which co-exist in Korea today.”
The exhibition is held until January 29. The entrance fee is free.
